Our Senior Ladies had a busy week playing their last two fixtures of the Junior League before it splits into the Junior Cup and Junior Shield sections. They travelled to Ballykinlar on Thursday evening with a strong team. After training very hard over the past few weeks, they girls were ready for this game. They started off with a well-worked point by Ciara Morgan and controlled the game from that first score. The Blues played some great running football throughout. With the mid half-backs and half-forwards controlling the pace of the game, the Senior Ladies ran out easy winners against a very committed bunch of Ballykinlar ladies, who were great sports. Fantastic to see Ciara Downey back to full health and playing again. Also, well done to Sarah Rooney who played her first Senior game, coming on to replace our injured captain, Kirsty Fegan, to whom we all wish a speedy recovery.

Saturday evening saw our Senior Ladies take to the field again, hosting a strong Saul side at home. Despite some great play and a ‘never-give-up’ attitude the ladies in blue could not hinder the Saul attack, who ran out worthy winners. It is now anticipated that our Senior Ladies will enter the Down LGFA Junior League Shield competition which will commence in the next few weeks.
