Comprehensive Victory For Senior Footballers

posted 18 Jun 2012 00:39 by Warrenpoint GAA

Cumann Pheadair Naofa Senior Footballers put on a fine display of football when they won a home game against Clann Na Banna on Friday evening with the final score 1-19 to 0-9. St. Peter’s played with coherency and determination throughout the game and even when Clanna Na Banna made serious efforts to narrow the scoreline, Warrenpoint remained resolute in their quest for success. The half time score was Warrenpoint 0-12, Clann Na Banna 0-6.

Warrenpoint continued their dominance in the second half, with the only goal of the game clinically put away by Gary Boyle, who along with his brothers John and Ryan, put on stellar performances. Caolan Mc Loughlin mastered mid field while Ciaran Mc Cartan responded well to Clanna na Banna’s attacking threat. Ross Mc Garry beautifully swept over two forty-fives with accuracy. As a result of this consistent team effort by the Blues, Warrenpoint now join Rostrevor and Annaclone at the top of the Down All County Division Two League.
