Well done to Cumann Pheadair Naofa who got their first fixture in the South Down Ladies U12 League of to a winning start on Saturday morning against an experienced Newry Bosco team, with a score line of 0.7 to 0.5.
The game was played at a high pace throughout in front of a large crowd at Pairc Liam Ui Ir, with both teams exchanging scores in both halves but Cumann Pheadair Naofa took their chances more in front of the goals than Bosco did. Coach Rónán McMahon was delighted with the level of skills and teamwork shown by the girls that were developed throughout the 8 week Gaelic for Girls coaching programme in the weeks prior.

It was a momentous day for Cumann Pheadair Naofa in fielding their first ever girls team in a competitive league and photos can be viewed on the Gallery Section of the website.

Next match for the Girls is against Burren next Saturday 12th May in Burren.
