After the success of the last dancing event, Jigs and Reels, the men and women of Cumann Pheadair Naofa are now preparing to take to the stage once again this year in the eagerly anticipated 2012, Point Gets Jiggy! The young and maybe not so young footballers, hurlers, coaches, parents and members of our club will take to the stage on Saturday 17th March and Sunday 18th March in the Whistledown Hotel Warrenpoint to try and follow in the footsteps of twinkle toes Davo O’Connor (Saturday winner) and the unbelievably co-ordinated Antz Grimes (Sunday winner) and fight to be crowed King of the dance floor!
In this years competition 8 solo acts will battle it out to become ultimate solo champion and then the teams will take to the stage to set the dance floor alight in their outrageous costumes and ‘flawless’ routines!! The teams will consist of the football committee, hurling committee and a new all parents team!
Keep an eye on the website and in the press for the release of the solo dancers, their partners and then the team dancers. Names have been kept under wraps to date and the competitiveness has already begun with no stone being left unturned and no step unfinished by the solo participants!!
Tickets are priced £10 and will be available for purchase mid February, however anyone who wants to reserve tickets please email Aislíng McGivern (firstname.lastname@example.org) or contact the Social Committee Chairperson, Declan Ryan. Don’t be disappointed, the last event was a double sell out, this one promises to the the same.
A night not to be missed, come and watch the super blues put on their dancing shoes!!
