Friday night saw a sun swept Pairc Liam Ui Ir host the Senior teams of Cumann Pheadair Naofa and An Riocht.

The pitch was in great condition and so were the Blues from Warrenpoint. The game got off to a cracking start with Ross McGarry pinging over the first point of the game. The Blues were moving well and picking off pass after pass working well together as a team. Scores from Ross McGarry, Niall McGovern and Donagh McAleenan saw the blues thunder into the lead.
An Riocht were not at the races for most of the first half with errors in handling and kick and fist passes allowing the Warrenpoint men to dominate possession in the first 20 minutes. An Riocht managed to get back into the game when they took advantage of a mix up in communication and bag two goals to take the bad look of the game.

An Riocht got off to a great start in the second half nipping over the first three points of the second half but a fantastic midfield performance from Caolan McLoughlin saw the point men continue to dominate the possession play and scores from McGarry, Davy Walker, Ryan Magee, Niall Trainor and Niall McGovern saw the men from Warrenpoint close out the game to win their 6th game out of 7 in this years All County Football League Division one seeing them sit at the top of the league on 12 points with Clonduff, Kilcoo and Mayobridge hot on their tails.

Final Score CPN 4-22 vs An Riocht 2-13.

Next up for the Blue is Castlewellan in 2 weeks away from home.
