U9 & U11 Hurlers defy the bad weather
Despite Storm Hannah closing in with high winds and biting cold rain the U9 & U11 Hurlers of Cumann Pheadaír Naofa proved that they were made of sterner stuff when the entertained both Ballela & Clonduff in a series of mini blitzes held in Milltown on Friday evening. It was very heartening to see the many parents & coaches from all the teams involved come out and support their young teams. The quality of Hurling on show was of the highest order with all the players getting plenty of game time.

Many thanks to the Ballela & Clonduff clubs for coming along and helping to make it such a success. It was also great to see some of our own U16 lads, who’ve tasted success at various underage levels recently, stand up and take control of the umpiring, refereeing and time keeping duties of these games, many thanks to Oisín, Ben, Tiernan, Matthew.

Young Hurlers visit Killeavy
The U11 hurlers travelled to Killeavy on Sunday morning for a blitz with their hosts and fellow visitors Middletown. Craobh Rua & Cuchullainns. The young blues opened the day with excellent victories over both Cuchullainns & Craobh Rua, altogether scoring a whopping 31 points and conceding only 7. But the lads found Middletown a tougher test, eventually going down 6 points to 4.
