Once more, the U16 Droichead Pointe Ladies applied their winning formula to prise a win from a strong Carryduff side. The young Blues hosted Carryduff in Milltown on Sunday afternoon to play the final game in the U16 A League prior to their 6 week exam break.

Carryduff were out in force and applied an unrelenting pressure which saw the Blues trail by 5 points at the half-time whistle. The ensuing team talk, delivered in the Blue corner, had the desired effect and it was an resolute Blue team with heads held high that returned to the field to face their determined opposition.

Throughout the second half the Blues lifted the game and surpassed themselves with a display of skill and cohesive teamwork, embraced by each and every member of the team. This resulted in a number of successive scores, to include several well-executed goals. Despite the continued efforts of the Carryduff ladies, the Blues could not be suppressed and at the final whistle ran out the deserving victors. Final score: 8-10 to 3-11. Best of luck to all the girls as they head into their 6 week exam break!!
