The Senior Footballers are back in training for 2008 under the auspices of new management. ET McGivern is Senior manager with a group of selectors and coaches that include Gerry Boyle, Petesy Dorran, Gervase O'Hare and Johnnsy Mallon. All the best to the new management and the players on what's hoping will be a successful 2008.

The Senior Footballers are organising a fund raising effort on Saturday 15th March in The Duke. It's a fancy-dress evening in aid of the Senior Footballers and tickets, which cost £8, can be obtained from any footballer and from The Duke bar. Doors open at 8.30pm with a disco and prizes for the best dressed.

The Senior Hurlers season begins this Sunday with a tough trip to first division outfit Kilclief in the preliminary round of the Betsy Grey. The best of luck is also extended to our five South Down representatives; Ronan Mulligan, Michael Murphy, John O'Kane, Allen Higgins and Karl Maxwell who will be representing the county in Clones this Sunday in their historic opening round of Division four of the National Hurling League. Michael Murphy is also representating Queen's University in the Ryan cup against Tipperary this Thursday. Good luck to one and all.

Indoor Camogie has started in the club rooms, running for approximately 6 weeks. The Under 16s and Seniors are training from 7 to 9 each Wednesday. The under 10s and 12s train every Saturday from 11am to 12.30 followed by a session for the under 14s fro 12.30 to 2. Please note that the indoor hurling will be running fro 10am ech Saturday with the young hurlers and camogs over-lapping.

Indoor hurling for any child under 12 continues this week at the changed venue of St. Peters clubrooms instead of Castlewellan. It kicks off at 10.30; running until 12. Please ensure that all children bring water and adequate playing gear. Please contact under-12 coach Liam Rice on 07872168133.

There is a fund-raising event kicking off this Sunday in the clubrooms at 6.00pm. It will be a Fifa 08 competition on the Playstation 2, with a fiver entrance fee with the winner taking half the pot. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to go to contribute to some well needed funds for the club and maybe win a few pound along the way. If you have any questions please contact David O'Conner.

The U16 and U14 hurlers and management would like to extend words of thanks to all those who contributed in raising money which went towards purchasing new Warrenpoint GAA hoodie tops for players who participated in a recent fund raising push. The underage players ran two 'Predict the Score' draws where for £1 people guessed the score in this years All Ireland Hurling Quarter Final and Final. The scheme proved extremely popular with 24 players receiving new tops for their efforts. The management would like to extend thanks to members of the Senior Committee who assisted in the scheme, particularly our Chairman Hubert Shannon and Registrar Pat O'Hare who we kept pestering for advice on running the draw and purchasing the tops.

Camogie Registration night takes place on Wednesday 16th January from 7pm to 8pm in the clubrooms. All those wishing to play underage [6 to 16yrs] or if wanting to join senior team must come along and register for this year even if they have played before.

Indoor Hurling for all our underage hurlers resumes this Saturday. Can all kids under 12 be at St. Marks for 10am. The session is from 11 to 12.30 in St. Malachy's Castlewellan. Can all children please ensure they have adequate playing gear, water, 2 pound and a helmet if they have one. The bus will return to St. Marks at approximately 1pm. Everyone welcome!
