Amid a healthy crowd of coaches, players, parents and general sense of interest within the club the Hurling section launched their “Pathway to Success” document. Having been ratified and given the full support of the senior committee, Colette Lock started proceeding by welcoming everyone in attendance and thanking Kilkenny’s Martin Fogarty for taking the time to come along and listen to this pioneering initiative.

Many thanks must be given to Tom Daly, Sean Mallon, Conor Keenan, Declan Daly & Hurling Chairperson Colette Lock for their foresight in identifying the need to improve & increase the participation of our National game within the parish of Warrenpoint. Backed & supported by Liam Howlett our Games Development Officer and club Secretary Ann McCormack this sees Warrenpoint GAA set the bar within Down & Ulster as a club that are determined to see Hurling flourish and thrive.

With the basic outlines of this initiative explained to the attentive audience it was left to the National Hurling Development manager, Martin Fogarty to close proceedings with some words of advice and support as he emphasised the importance of “seizing the day” and ensuring the basics of the game were not left behind as Hurling was enjoying a period of national euphoria and success.
