With a lot of holidays, graduations and injuries the senior men went into the ACFL Division one second round fixture against Saval with limited numbers and this was evident from the start as the home side opened the scoring within seconds with a goal. They continued to chip away at the blues and managed a 1.04 to 0.03 lead after twenty minutes. The blues had numerous missed chances and procession was most certainly below par. However they managed a Niall T goal just before half time left the score 1.06 to 1.04.

In a Déjà vu type scenario the Saval men opened the second half scoring with a goal blasted past Gary Mac which put them back five ahead. However in typical Warrenpoint style the blues didn’t give up and some Saval indiscipline saw the blues tick off a few frees which were then followed by a fantastic goal from Rhino which saw him blast the back of the net to leave the blues one behind, 2.07 to 2.08. Some great play teamwork and a never say die attitude saw scores from Nidge, Donagh and Aaron Magee and the blues ran out eventful winners 2.11 to 2.08. A great comeback which was the blues stretch their lead in first position in ACFL Division one.
