On Thursday last our Under 12 footballers hosted Ballyholland in Milltown in the first of the fixtures since the league split.
A highly competitive first half saw some keenly fought exchanges between two teams that played with great determination and commitment. The half time score saw Ballyholland enjoy the narrowest of advantages with the scores at 4 points to 3.
The second half saw Ballyholland start strongly which enabled them to open up a sizable lead after hitting 1.02 without reply.
The Warrenpoint lads never lost heart and came roaring back into the game with 1.02 of their own. However Ballyholland where able to muster a couple of points at the end to close out a tight encounter on a scoreline of 1.09 to 1.05 in favour of the visitors.
The young blues will take great heart from a strong and determined performance against a good Ballyholland team.
