Cumann Pheadair Noafa U16s travelled to Carryduff last Thursday for an All County Division 1 league match. Carryduff started the game strongly and continued that through the half, they took advantage of some poor Warrenpoint defending finding the net 5 times in the first half. None the less, the blues kept fighting and a goal from Eoghan Byrne and well worked points from Alan Booth and Aaron McBurney get the point ticking over.
Half time score 5-3 to 1-5 in favour of Carryduff. The blues came out much stronger in the second half with the defence a lot tighter and kept Carryduff to just 1-4 for the half! The forwards got more into the game and started to claw back the deficit with goals from Aaron McBurney and Eoghan Byrne. However a missed penalty and a few wasted opportunities meant the blues couldn’t complete the comeback. Final score Carryduff 6-7 Warrenpoint 3-12 Best on the night Sean O’Hare, Jamie Lynch and Eoghan Byrne.
