Last Saturday the U8 footballers had a fantastic day at the Ballyholland tournament.

The Og’s played superbly throughout the day and their development over the last number of months was clear for all to see. They won against Sharmrocks, drew with Saval but were beaten by Ballyholland and Mayobridge.

The Gaels had an excellent tournament, the level of skill on display was beyond their age. In the group stage of the tournament they had 2 wins and a defeat, however, the real drama was in the knockout stages of the tournament when the young blues suffered defeat by the eventual winners of the tournament by just 1 point. It was a game in which the young blues were in control throughout, with the referee ready to end the game the young blues were 2 points up but unfortunately Killeavy scored a goal with the last kick of the game.

The next outing for the U8 team is this Sunday in Dromintee, the bus will leave St.Marks @ 8:30am, the coaches and parents are looking forward to another great day of football.
