U8’s

On Sunday the U8 team held their end of season event at Pairc Liam Ui Ir Moygannon. The young players were joined by members of the Senior football team who kindly gave up their time to pass on their knowledge to the future players of the club. While the young blues were being put through their paces on the field by the senior players their parents enjoyed tea & coffee and buns & biscuits in the 125 pavilion!

The under 8 mentors would like to thank Christie, Gary, Miceal , Ross and Ruairi for their time not only on Sunday but throughout the year. A special word of thanks to all the parents that attended the event, their ongoing support means a lot to the mentors and even more to the players.

As part of the end of season event a presentation was made to all the players who received a goodie bag kindly provided by Irwin Carr consultants. The development of the all the young blues during this season has been clear for all to see – well done to all the players for their hard work and effort all year.

The event concluded with the announcement of U8 player of year and the U8 most improved player of the year –

***The player of the year was Ryan O’Hare***

***The most improved player of the year was Luke Carr***

The U8 mentors would like to think Mrs Pauline Smith for meeting Ryan on Wednesday night in the club rooms to present Ryan with the Conor Smith Memorial Cup. The U8 mentors would like to thank Anne McCormack the club secretary for giving up her time to attend our end of year presentation and her kind words of support at the event. Anne’s willingness to support the young players means a lot to their parents and to the U8 mentors.

U11’s

Our Under 11s were defeated in their last game against Drumgath on Sunday past.

Our lads were understrength with a few players being absent.

It has been a great year so far for this age group and the developments they have made has been great to see and will only help strengthen their under 12 and under 14 teams next season.
