Age Group: U16 Ladies

Date: 15th September – 7pm

Teams: Cumann Pheadair Naofa vs Glenn

Venue: Moygannon, Warrenpoint

Competition: Friendly

Match Summary: With a bit of a break between championship matches, the Warrenpoint girls were keen to get a competitive run out, to help their match sharpness. Glenn were the visitors to Moygannon, on a warm evening. The visitors were the quicker out of the blocks, taking the first point of the game. This seemed to shake the Blues into action & from that point onwards, the home team were very much in control. Some strong running from the Glenn central eight players meant that Warrenpoint didn’t have it all their own way, but ultimately the movement, accurate passing & desire to get hands on the ball, proved too much for Glenn, with Warrenpoint running out comfortable winners.

Thanks to Glenn for making the trip to Warrenpoint.

Wednesday night saw 54 young girls make their way to Moygannon for U10 training followed by an U12 match v Annaclone. The increase in numbers speaks volumes for the club and in the promotion of LGFA in Warrenpoint. Annaclone won a fantastic game by 2 points but the coaches are delighted with how both sets of panels are improving each week. Next up for the U12s is a trip to Aghaderg on Wednesday September 23 September.
